    About the condition

    Understanding OCD

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a cycle of unwanted, distressing thoughts (obsessions) and the rituals or mental acts (compulsions) used to relieve them.

OCD is highly treatable. The combination of behavior-based therapy and, when needed, medication produces meaningful relief for the majority of patients.

    Symptoms we address

    • Intrusive thoughts you can't shake (contamination, harm, symmetry, taboo themes)
    • Repetitive behaviors: checking, counting, washing, arranging
    • Mental rituals such as repeating phrases or reviewing memories
    • Significant time spent on rituals (often more than 1 hour/day)
    • Distress and interference with work, school, or relationships
